Terms of use

By using Paper Alert, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Paper Alert.

What Paper Alert does

Paper Alert helps capture document images, extract and review information, organize saved documents, set date reminders, export calendar events, and answer questions using saved content. Some features need an internet connection. The app is currently in development and may change during testing.

Review important information

AI can misread text, confuse date formats, omit information, or produce incorrect answers. You are responsible for checking titles, fields, dates, reminder times, and chat answers against the original document. Keep original documents and use independent checks for consequential deadlines.

Paper Alert does not provide legal, financial, medical, immigration, or other professional advice. A suggested reminder does not determine a contractual deadline, eligibility, entitlement, or legal obligation.

Notifications and calendar exports

Reminder delivery is not guaranteed. Device permissions, battery-saving modes, connectivity, system settings, app removal, or platform limits may delay or prevent notifications. Keep another reminder for deadlines where missing a date could cause harm or loss.

Events exported to another calendar are separate copies. You are responsible for checking their date, time zone, recurrence, and visibility, and for updating or deleting them in that calendar.

Your content and acceptable use

You keep your rights to the documents and other content you upload. You grant the permissions needed to store, process, extract, retrieve, and display that content to provide the requested features, including processing by our service providers as described in the privacy policy.

Only upload content you are allowed to use. Do not upload unlawful material, infringe others' rights, use the service to harass or harm people, interfere with security, evade usage limits, or attempt to access another user's documents.

Access and data

Protect your device and access to your app session. If the app uses a device-scoped or anonymous identity, clearing app data or changing devices may affect your ability to reach saved records. Do not treat the service as your only archive. Deletion is described on our data deletion page.

Advertising, purchases, and trials

The app may show advertisements. Development builds use test ads. Optional subscriptions, purchase prices, billing periods, and trial terms are shown before purchase when offered. Development testing may use RevenueCat Test Store, which simulates purchases without a real payment. For actual Android store purchases, Google Play handles billing; subscriptions may renew automatically unless cancelled according to the store's terms. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play. Deleting the app or its data does not cancel a subscription. Refund eligibility is governed by the store's policies and applicable law.

Third-party services

Paper Alert relies on services such as Convex, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Google AdMob, Meta, RevenueCat, and the calendar app you select where relevant features are enabled. Their availability and policies can affect the service. We are not responsible for independent third-party services beyond obligations imposed by applicable law.

Availability and changes

We may update, limit, suspend, or discontinue features, including to maintain security, comply with law, or respond to misuse. We aim to preserve useful access but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, compatibility with every Android device, or permanent availability.

Responsibility and applicable rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without guarantees of accuracy, completeness, or suitability for a particular purpose. To that same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from incorrect extraction, missed notifications, lost access, or reliance on AI answers. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
